Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on 22 August 1995. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017, after she signed with Warner Bros Records. The album climbed to the top spot at No. 3 on the U.K. Charts. There were eight songs released such as Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa was honored with the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum in a number of countries. Dua Lipa was born London on August 22 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. It is possible to trace her family's roots back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. The grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who is also the lead musician and vocalist for the Kosovan group Oda. In the family, her father would continue playing music which included his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa was only five when she began singing. At the age of nine she learned how to sing. Lipa performed Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If Ain't Got You By Alicia Keys. Her record deal signed with Warner Bros. Records was signed in the year 2014. In August of 2015, her debut single New Love came out.
