Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. Her career in acting started on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. From her early years she's always been enthusiastic about acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. She became deaf in one ear due to mumps but did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. She was a drama major at the college before moving between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut due to an unplanned conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. She made the move from New York to Los Angeles and tried to land movie roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. In the last three decades Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
